Welcome to a new school year! My name is Phyllis S. Wilson. It's important to note the S. in my name because I am one of two Phyllis Wilsons here at Weaverville Elementary. I have been a resource teacher in Buncombe County Schools since 2002 and I have
been lucky enough to spend all of these years here in Weaverville. I look forward to working with you and your child to make this school year a great success.
I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and taught in the Philadelphia school system for 17 years prior to relocating to Buncombe County. I received my Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Millersville University in Lancaster, PA. Ten years later, I earned my Master of Education in Elementary Education from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. I have been a certified Wilson Reading Program Level 1 instructor since 2011 and am a certified Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner.
