Class Supply List/Summer Information

I've had many students and parents ask what they can do outside of music class to continue the music learning. I've attempted to compile a few ideas below for you and your child. I hope you find these resources helpful!

Attend Live Concerts!
We are so fortunate to live in such a rich musical culture that is present in Asheville and the surrounding areas. There is music at every corner (and often FREE!). Take advantage and look for concerts throughout the summer!

Shindig on the Green

AVL Downtown

See Live Theater!
Live theater is the best! Often many productions around Asheville are musicals!  What a great way to listen to fabulous music and take in live theater.

Flat Rock Playhouse

SART

ACT

Get Creative!
Spend some time daily allowing your child to explore music on their recorder, ukulele, guitar or drum. Play music while you are working around the house! Listening to music can be relaxing and entertaining. Or better yet, get creative and make your musical instrument!

How We Learn

Red Tricycle

Take music lessons!
Again, Asheville and the surrounding area is filled with many opportunities to explore instrumental and vocal music making.

AVL Music School

Academy for the Arts

I truly hope you are inspired this summer and find creative ways to enjoy the beauty of music!

"Class Supply List"
I am always in need of tissues, hand sanitizer, white board markers. As you can imagine the music room is used by ALL students in our school. If you are interested in donating to our classroom we would greatly appreciate extra mallets for our xylophones, extra guitar pics, and recourse books (i.e.: ukulele beginner books, recorder beginner books, guitar beginner books). If you are moved to donate, please don't hesitate to contact me via my email: Cynthia.roop@bcsemail.org

Have a happy, healthy, MUSICAL summer!
