Students at Weaverville Elementary made sure their eyes are as healthy as can be with the help from Weaverville Lions Club. Members of the club came Tuesday, May 3 and conducted free vision screenings for third and fourth graders. The students had their vision checked for astigmatism, vision problems, and pupil issues. One member of the club said it’s important to identify any eyesight problems early on in order to prevent complications later in life.

“Our students have to be able to have their basic needs met,” said Principal Heidi Allison. “We are very thankful to the Lions Club for supporting our school and providing this to our community.”

Parents can take the vision screening paperwork that was sent home with their child and have a more in depth exam done by their eye doctor if they have any concerns or questions.
